The flame of the Hungarian Revolution is rekindled in front of the parliament building on the eve of the 53rd anniversary of the Hungarian uprising attempting to topple the Communist rule in 1956. The square in front of the Parliament, where a commemoration ceremony is being held, was once the venue of a massacre during the revolutionary days of 1956, starting 23 October and ending 4 November by the invasion of Russian troops which would in turn quell the Hungarian people’s uprising.
