In this photo taken Sunday, March 28, 2010 released by China’s Xinhua news agency, villagers come to fetch water at a nearly dry spring at the Bayi Village in Jingxi county of Baise city, southwest China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. About 61 million people have been affected by the drought and 12 million acres (about 5 million hectares) left barren since last year in Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan, Chongqing and Guangxi, Xinhua said.
