At the Monterey Bay Aquarium, a sea otter holds her offspring on her belly near Moss Landing, Calif. The 5-year-old female otter known to aquarium staff as MBA 327, washed ashore as a pup and was returned to the wild where she gave birth to her second pup contributing to the recovery of California’s threatened sea otter population.
