In Maine, which has the nation’s biggest moose population outside Alaska, moose have caused crashes across the state, even in cities where motorists don’t expect them. “They’re everywhere. Moose is Maine’s most deadly animal,” said Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Public Safety Department in Augusta.
