The Georges Pompidou mortorway, forground, which crosses Paris along the Seine river is closed to the traffic, Monday Dec. 27, 2010, because of unusually high waters following heavy snow falls. Tour boat operators have halted sight-seeing cruises on the Seine river. Visible at right is the Ile de la Cite.
