Sony World Photography Awards 2011: le foto dei vincitori
[L'Iris D'Or] People - Alejandro Chaskielberg (Argentina)
The Hunter, della serie The High Tide di Alejandro Chaskielberg
Vincitore nella categoria Persone e Vincitore del premio di Fotografo dell’anno.
I used the full moon as a key element in composition and lighting, while the islanders remained still for up to ten minutes. I work in large format, composing with the focus plane through people, vegetation, water and sky. At the same time, the use of long-time exposures with full moon, have allowed me to light part of the landscape artificially. I think my pictures as slides of unfinished stories, having a script on my head that is continuously changing by reality. I am interested in the poetical and visual power of the water, and the relationship of people and the environment. The intention of The Hight Tide project is to explore these islands using photography, and present another version of the Paran· River Delta and its community that has been photographically ignored throughout years.
