Vincitore nella categoria Sport
Ethiopia, May 2010. The two winners of the fat man competition of the Bode tribe walk away with the grail they win at the fat man competition during celebrations of the ‘Kel” (Bode New year Celebration). The Bode is the name of a semi-nomadic tribe leaving in the Omo valley, about 140 km from the Ethiopian town of Jinka. Their homeland is remoted, located in the bush at the south west Omo valley. This celebration is a bit different than a usual new year celebrations as the tradition is to feed young men from every Bodei village. They are feeded only with cow blood and milk during 3-6 months (fatning process). They manage then to almost double their weight, being then ready for the competition.of the fattest man. On the competition day, they arrive to the Bodi King village and after the dance they are measured by the elders who then decide who is the winner and the fattest.
