Una pellegrina nepalese hindu trasporta acqua sacra verso il tempio di Pashupati

An Nepalese Hindu pilgrim - also known as Bolboms - carries holy pots containing holy water during a procession to worship Lord Shiva, the god of creation and destruction, at Sundarijal village, Nepal, 01 August 2011. Scores of Hindu devotees from all over the Nepal and neighboring country India gathered in the northern holy city Sundarijal, 22 km from the capital Kathmandu where they collect water claimed to be holy. The water is stored in two small buckets which hang from their colorful wooden sticks and body. The journey will end after offering a holy water at Pashupati temple, a biggest shrine of Hindus in Kathmandu. The Bolboms are not allowed to place the sticks on the ground until the end of their hours-long procession. Bolboms believe that all their sins and mistakes committed in life will be forgiven by taking part in this procession. (EPA/NARENDRA SHRESTHA)
