An undated handout photo by Dive Guide Greece released on 09 August 2011 shows a diving scene in Agios Nikolaos, Crete island, Greece. Clear water, teeming marine life, caves and shipwrecks attract more than 250,000 scuba and free divers to Greek waters each year. The first officially reported free dive worldwide was by Stathis Hadzis, a diver from Symi island, who on 16 July 1913, dived to a depth of 88m. Since the 19th century, sponge divers from Kalymnos and Symi islands have carried their unique techniques all over the world. (EPA/DIVE GUIDE GREECE/GEORGE TZANAKIS)
