<p>(ANSA) - Il terremoto che <a href="http://blog.panorama.it/mondo/2010/03/08/terremoto-in-turchia-almeno-41-morti-le-foto/#more-13034">ieri</a> ha fatto tremare una vasta regione montuosa e poco abitata dell&#8217;est della Turchia, causando <strong>57 morti e 74 feriti</strong>, ha avuto la stessa intensità di quello dell&#8217;Aquila . Tra le vittime ci sono almeno quattro bambini. <span id="more-13152"></span>Il sisma, con una magnitudo di 6 gradi sulla scala Ricther ma un&#8217;intensità pari 8 gradi, è stato registrato alle 4.32 di notte (le 3.32 in Italia, proprio come il sisma abruzzese) nelle steppe dell&#8217;Anatolia orientale.<br />

Alla prima scossa di un minuto ne sono seguite altre 40 di assestamento di intensità fino a 5,5.<strong> La provincia più colpita è quella di Elazig</strong>, dove il villaggio curdo di Okcular e quello Yukari Demirci sono stati rasi quasi completamente al suolo, con interi nuclei familiari rimasti sepolti nel sonno sotto le macerie. Gravi danni si sono registrati anche in altri tre centri. I minareti di tre moschee sono crollati.</p>
<p>I soccorsi sono arrivati dalle città di Tunceli, Bingol, Diyarbakir, Mardin ed Erzurum ed è stato allestito un campo con 500 tende e 20 prefabbricati. Molte povere abitazioni fatte con mattoni di fango e paglia sono state completamente distrutte. Nessun danno è stato invece segnalato alla vicina grande diga di Keban. Dopo otto ore sono state interrotte ricerche tra le macerie e sono iniziate le sepolture delle vittime.</p>
<p>Il premier turco Recep Tayyip Erdogan ha invitato la popolazione delle aree terremotate a non tornare nelle case per il pericolo di crolli e ha promesso una pronta ricostruzione con case antisimiche.</p>
<p><strong>La Turchia</strong> è situata su un&#8217;importante faglia sismica e <strong>deve convivere con i terremoti</strong>: nell&#8217;agosto 1999 una scossa di magnitudo 7,4 nell&#8217;ovest aveva causato 18.000 morti. A differenza di quello dell&#8217;Aquila che fu di estensione della crosta terrestre, quelli turchi sono generalmente di compressione dovuta alla penisola arabica che spinge verso nord.</p>
